Empowering Local Communities Since 1995

Since 1995, Operation P.E.A.C.E. Atlanta has remained deeply rooted in the belief that lasting change begins within the community itself. What started as a small, resident-led effort inside the Bedford Pines neighborhood has grown into a trusted, multi-generational force for empowerment, serving youth, families, and seniors across Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward. For nearly three decades, we have stood alongside our neighbors, responding to real needs with compassion, consistency, and purpose, creating safe spaces for learning, mentorship, and connection. From afterschool programs and summer enrichment to family support and senior engagement, our work reflects a simple but powerful truth: when communities are invested in, supported, and heard, they rise. As we honor our legacy, we remain committed to building stronger pathways forward, where opportunity is accessible, voices are valued, and every generation has the tools to thrive.

The Heart of Our Impact

At the heart of Operation P.E.A.C.E. Atlanta's impact is the vision and compassion of Edna Moffett, a community resident who saw both the challenges and the untapped potential within Bedford Pines. Without formal training, but guided by deep care and conviction, she created a safe haven for children, transforming structure, encouragement, and someone who believed in them, and she dedicated herself to ensuring no young person was left without guidance or opportunity. Her legacy lives on in every program we offer and every life we touch, reminding us that true change begins with one person willing to act, uplift, and lead with heart.
